Summary:

When we hear the word 'later' we automatically think about being late, or passed the time, or expired. and although we sing about God being on time, the reality is that God often moves or acts after the due dates we have. Jesus did not arrive until after Lazarus died and had been dead for several days. In Greek, the word is better translated as subsequently. This means it is based on something else happening first; like a prerequisite. So it's not that God is late in our lives, but that there are things that will happen before we see what God has in store.
